Donbass is a land area from the ages. Once a barren wilderness comprising peasants and outlaws dating back to the conquest of The Khan dynasty. In the 1700's coal deposits were discovered in Dombass. However, the coal industry didn't bloom until a Welshmen named John Hughes developed the area in 1872. After that the area became of high interest to all. The area was conquered by Russians , the Germans during world WWI, then the Bolsheviks after the October revolution followed, by the Nazi's and then the Russians again after WWII. The Nazi Fuhrer Adolf Hitler needed the energy from the coal fields. Subsequently many of the Ukrainians under went nazification which lingers in the area until this day. In addition, the US Government cultivated Nazism among the people, during the 1950's and on, during the cold war.[1] Dombass has a strong Russian heritage dating back to the development of the coal industry and speak native Russian. In addition, the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev was born in the area, and many citizens in the region will identify themselves as metal workers to associate themselves with the humble man who went from lower class working roots, as a metal worker in Donbass, to be the leader of the country. Khrushchev destalinized the country. Ukrainian proper does not speak Russian. they have their own dialect which causes a great deal of tension between the Russian speakers and the Ukrainian speakers. However, the current president Zelensky grew up speaking Russian, but the previous president, Petro Poroshenko, who was elected after a bank sponsored coup d'etat, favored Ukrainian. Donbass has always been closer to the Russians than Ukrainian proper do to the industrial and political history of the area.

Donbass is a natural resources powerhouse for the area. It is rich in bituminous coal, anthracite, and lignite. The Bituminous coal is very very deep underground. In addition, the area is loaded with iron ore and has been industrialized to produce large quantities. The workers in this area have let their presents be known by holding strikes on several occasions to advance social benefits such as medical and retirement. Also, because of the industrialization of Dombas several wealthy people have emerged from the area to gain power in Ukraine. President Yanukovych was on such person and is were this current conflict begins.

President Yanukovych was from the Donbass region and a very savvy businessman. During his term in office, around 2014, he appropriately directed the Ukrainian government away from a business deal with the world bank/IMF by not signing the agreement to join the European Union. In order to join the EU the Ukrainians had to acquire a loan from the IMF which was extremely harsh and non constructive. The IMF was attempting to make the Ukrainians debt slaves. Basically, it would have been punitive towards the people. In addition, The Russians had given the Ukrainians more favorable counter offer with better business terms. Thus, Yanukovych stood up for the people and took the better deal. Suddenly, protests and riots broke out, in the name of democracy , and after much fighting the honestly elected president of Ukraine was escorted out of office by armed guards and now lives in exile. That doesn't sound like democracy. Who took his place? Petro Poroshenko the Board Chairman of the Ukrainian National bank. Following his inauguration, the Azov private military and other Private Military Contractors, funded by the Jewish businessman Igor Kolomiosky, who was the CEO of privatBank of Ukraine, began lobbing missiles into the Donbass region. [2] Igor and other corporate raiders, fund several private Armies who have Nazi ideology. Igor is barred from entering the United States.[3][4]
