In 16 February 2022, 33 year old Mr. Jared Bridegan ( a Microsoft Manager) was transiting down Sanctuary Parkway in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, which is an on-ramp to J Turner Butler Blvd (JTB), on his way home to Nocatee, FLorida, a small community in St. Johns County, Florida, after dropping off his children, from a court ordered fathers time visit, with his ex-wife, Shana Gardner. Shana Gardner at the time of the murder was married to Mario Fernandez. The assassin had followed Mr. Bridegan for some time to understand Mr. Bridegan's patterns or habits. Mr. Bridegan always took the same route back home after dropping off his children with their mother, Shana Gardner-Fernandez. This time, on the day of the murder, the assassin positioned a tire in the middle of the on-ramp to JTB Blvd. forcing Mr. Bridegan to exit his Black Volkswagen SUV to remove the tire from the road. While Mr. Bridegan exited his vehicle the Assassin, who was waiting in the bushes, pounced from the obscuration of the tree cover, and shot and killed Mr. Bridegan leaving residual bullet holes in Mr. Bridegan's Black SUV's drivers side door. Mr. Bridegan's 2 ½-year-old daughter, from his current marriage, who was riding in the backseat of his SUV, remained alive during the gun down. A good sumaritan, who arrived at the scene after the shooting, retrieved the young girl, and reported the incident. Mr. Jared Bridegan has been portrayed as an A-1 father with no enemies. His only rebuff has been through his acrimonious divorce with Shana Gardner.
A year transpired before the Jacksonville Beach Police announced they had found the killer. The assassin was identified as an unshaven black man named Henry Tenon. The identification of Henry Tenon brought an interesting twist to the Assassination plot. Mr. Tenon, during the time of the shooting, was renting a home from Mr. Mario Fernandez, who was Shana Gardner's current husband at the time of the Bridegan murder. Mr. Fernanadez and Shana Gardner had a real estate business together, but the home Mr. Tenon lived in belonged to Mr. Fernandez before the two were married. So, it was Mr. Fernandez home, not part of the co-owned real estate business they shared together. In addition, the two shared a bank account together in which Mr. Fernandez was the trustee. Because the divorce with Mr. Bridegan was acrimonious, the Gardner family had set up a trust account with Mr. Fernandez as the trustee to prevent Mr. Bridegan from making a claim on the funds during any divorce litigation. Several checks of large amounts were written to Mr. Tenon, and the Florida State Attorney's Office (FSAO) has claimed a few of them were a payoff to Mr. Tenon for the murder for hire contract. However, during the
Arthur Hearing Jose Baez pushed the point that Mr. Tenon had not received any seed money before the crime was committed . In addition, Attorney Baez pushed the point Shana Gardeners name does not appear on any of the checks Mr. Tenon received, and those in the public gallery ask the question,
" why would the contractee pay the contractor with a check and leave a paper trail "? This is important, because Mr. Tenon has confessed to the crime of killing Mr. Bridegan. Also, Mr. Tenon has implicated Mario Fernandez as the mastermind in exchange for more favorable sentencing terms. A plea bargain in which the FSAO waved certain statutory legal requirements in order to gain Mr. Tenon's cooperation. Mr. Tenon is now regulated to a 15 year sentence as opposed to life in prison or death. Since Henry Tenon has been in jail for almost two years now he is only looking at 13 more years, until he is a free man again. At 61, Henry Tenon could one day smell fresh air again. In order to survive, would Henry Tenon say just about anything?
Judge Kite, the presiding judge on the case, did not grant Shana Gardner bond after the Arthur hearing, and release her from custody. The Arthur hearing featured the Jacksonville Beach lead Detective Christopher Johns. Although more witnesses were called than Detective Johns, Lead Detective Johns appeared to get the most attention. Detective Johns confessed upon cross examination by defense counsel, Jose Baez, that this case was his "first time" leading an investigation. Has Detective Chris John been over zealous and made some critical mistakes?
One of the most glaring atrocities of the government was brought out during a cross exam by Jose Baez. Apparently, a close Friend of Mrs. Gardener, who is referred to as LJ, was approached by Jacksonville Beach police, while she was exiting her home and followed to the Publix supermarket grocery store, and strongly encouraged (issued a subpoenas) to ride to downtown Jacksonville's Florida State Attorney's office without arrest. Once in the downtown facility, she was placed into a room , by herself, with various cell phone text messages between her a Shana Gardner taped to the wall, and made sit there for a long long time, similar to what car salesmen do when making a car deal, which was presumed to have prompted her to read the messages, and plant the seed that she was a co conspirator of some kind. Honest John, they did this to this women. In the meeting she discovered text messages taped to the wall involving conversational exchanges between LJ and Mrs. Gardener from 2015 and 2016, which is 7 years before the murder, during the time of the Jerad/ Shana divorce. Shana Gardner was distraught, frustrated, and heart broken, texting and venting with her friend LJ, and used the phrase kill and hitman with her friend LJ. Jose Baez pointed out there were no text messages, on record, with this type of dialog in the last 4 years. Defense Council Jose Baez pointed out in other text messages, on record, that Shana Gardner used the kill word rather loosely with regard to more mundane topics and, "surprisingly, the lead Detective Christopher Johns agreed". During the downtown interrogation LJ is alleged to have made incredulous statements to the crime while under duress as a possible co conspirator.
Suprisingly! these damning statements were never recorded. The courtroom in which the Arthur hearing takes place is a marvel of modern day technological innovation, and we live in a surveillance state where every conversation on our cell phone is monitored by the NSA, yet these damaging statements are not recorded in the interrogation room? Everyone of the members on the investigation team had a cell phone and not one of them used their government issued cell phones to record the interrogation? Are we living in America?
A Richardson hearing takes place when there is an alleged discovery violation. At the last hearing, the Richardson Hearing, the defense team had claimed that the FSAO office is withholding evidence (false statements to mislead Judge Kite at the Authur hearing) and that Detective Christopher Johns has made false statements during the process. In addition, there is an examination of a secret meeting between KJ and various members of the prosecution team which was "not recorded". KJ, who is disclosed to be Kim Jenson, a church friend of Shanna Gardner is hijacked at her home in Jacksonville Beach and lead to a room at a downtown government facility , which Attorney Baez referred to as the "intimidation room". She had a Question and Answer secession with the prosecution team, off the record, and at the Richardson hearing disavowed statements the prosecution has asserted she had made in the secret meeting. In addition, to this very shocking secret meeting engagement, it is brought to light, that lead Detective Chris Johns flew to Utah, and served Linda Luchetti, a member in good standing with the Intrepid Group ( Crisis Management PR firm ), who became a contact for Shanna Gardner during the investigation phase of the case do to public pressure, with a subpoena from Florida. That is correct, Lead Detective Chris Johns served someone a Florida Subpoena who lived in the State of Utah which the defense team pointed out is a crime. To add more insult, Detective Johns never attended the meeting with Linda Luchetti ordered by the unlawful subpoena he served her in the State of Utah. Another issue with Lead Detective Chris Johns is his insistence that he never contacted Susan Lee, who is an additional friend of Mrs. Gardners, and a member of the alleged text conspiracy to hire a hitman, because she changed her phone number. However, Kim Jenson refutes this statement by Detective Johns, by saying Susan Lee has had the same number for the last 25 years, until the date of the Richardson hearing. Furthermore, There is a discrepancy regarding fore knowledge of the murder by Shanna Gardner, because in a few of the text messages reviewed by the police, Shanna Gardner transmits knowledge of Henry Tenon and his Black truck. The prosecution asserts she could not have known that information unless she was a part of the plan. However, During the cross exam of Lead Detective Chris Johns in the Arthur hearing, Detective Johns discloses that Mr. Ordway, Henry Tenon's roommate, was giving confidencial details regarding the murder in order to gain his confidence. As to be expected, Mr. Ordway called his landlord, who was Mario Fernandez, who is Shanna Gardners husband at the time of the arrest of Mr. Tenon. Thus, Mario told Shanna of the details of the murder. Then Shanna contacted her PR firm. So, Shanna did not have fore knowledge, she received the knowledge about Henry Tenon and his Black truck through the grapevine because of a loose lipped conversation between Henry Tenon's roommate and a police detective. Finally, Attorney Jose Baez pointed to a powerpoint presentation displayed during the Artur hearing before Judge Kite in which the prosecution used text messages between Kim Jenson, Susan Lee, and Shanna Gardner, where the three friends were discussing a hitman to show Shanna Gardners state of mind, but they intentionally left out the last message, which was "LOL!". The text conversation from 7 years ago was a Joke between friends. Thus, the entire context of the conversation changes. The prosecution, lead by Attorney Alan Mizrahi, and Attorney Christina Stifler do a decent job trying to rebuttal these obvious challenges, but fail to confront why they had an unrecorded secret meeting and left out several text messages, nor did their rebuttal confront the release of confidential information to the roommate of the murder. Their repudiation of the assertions made by the defense was faded without a direct challenge and correction.
Judge Kite will make a ruling for Shanna Gardners release in the next hearing on September 23, 2024.
