On August 31, 1983, at 00:25 EDT(04:25 UTC) Korean Air Lines Flight 007, a Boeing 747 230B jet airliner with 269 souls onboard, pushed back from Gate 15 of John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, USA. It would be a flight with implications reaching well into the future. In 1983 GPS as we know it today did not exist. Jet airliners crossing large bodies of water had to use dead reconing, inerial navigation, or ground based radio such as the Omega system. This was the era of the cold war, and what rudimentry global postioning that did function, was keep a secret by the Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA forerunner of DARPA).

The Advance Research Project Agency (ARPA) had developed a positioning system that used a consellation of 5 satelites as opposed to the 24 consellation system today. This system was known as TRANSIT. The TRANSIT system could only provide a position fix once per hour.

A few years later the US Navy developed satelites with a clock. Then, followed the clock innovation with the atomic clock. This system was known as TIMIATION. The TIMIATION system allowed all naval vessels around the world to operate on synchronized time. Thus, the official time keeper of United States Time is located at the US Naval observatory in Washington D.C..

Remember, in 1983 the cold war loomed like dense smoke into every aspect of american life. Nuclear Armegadon was the nickname used to discribe the confrontaion. The TRANSIT and TIMITION systems were improvements, but they were not good enough for the United States nuclear traid system, which consisted of US Navy submarine launched misssles, Air Force ICBM's , and B52 Bombers. Navigation, during the cold war, was achieved using 8 fixed based radio beacons stationed throughout the world simular to our current cell phones towers before GPS.

Implementation of a Satelilte Global Positioning System in 1979 would require billions of dollars and american was in the center of a collosal recession do to the over spending in the Veitnam war. Not to mention, the public had a great distrust, of the military, during this time. Democrat President Jimmy Carter, and former US Navy Submarine officer, brought the civilian sector into the GPS development spear, in order to spur motivation with the people toward GPS development, with the first issue of the Department of Transportation Radio Action Plan (DOT-RSPA-DPB-20-79-1). However, the next president, military inspired Republican Ronald Regan (US Army/ Air Force Reserves), would have no part in democracy. Public supterfuge would underline the presidency of Republican Ronald Reagan.

The flight path of Korean Air Lines 007(KAL-007) would originate in New York City, New York, USA with a stop in Anchorage, Alaska, USA for refueling. The aircraft departed Anchorage, Alaska at (13:00 UTC) on August 31, 1983 bound for Kimpo International Airport in Gangseo District, Seoul, Korea.

Congressmen Jesse Helms(NC), Congressmen Steven Symms(ID), Carroll Hubbard Jr(KY). , and Congressmen Larry McDonald(GA) were all traveling to Seoul Korea for the ceremonies for the thirtieth anniversary of the U.S./South Korea Mutual Defense Treaty. However, Republicans Helms, Symms, Hubbard missed the flight, and Democratic Congressmen Larry McDonald was the only political representative on board KAL-007. Congressmen Larry McDonald was the newly elected president of the Ultra Conservative John Birch society. A powerful group opposing New World Order. The Republicans from BerryGold Water to Ronald Regan wanted the Birch society vote but didn't want to be seen at the big dance with one of them. In other words, on the inside, the Republicans liked the great society concept of Lyndon B. Johnson, but on the outside they wanted to appear capitalist, conservative and anti-big government. The newly elected President Ronald Reagan was no different.

Approximately 4 months before being shot down on KAL-007, Congressmen Larry McDonald gave an interview,on crossfire, critical of the Reagan administration and President Ronald Reagan's cozy relationship with the trilateral commission. Congressmen McDonald pointed out Reagan had 250 trilaterals on his staff after campaigning against it.

KAL-007 took -off on a heading of 320, and shortly there after was turned to a heading of 230 toward Bethel, Alaska VORTAC. Upon intersecting the Bethel VORTAC KAL-007 would pick up the westbound NORPAC routes into Seoul Korea. These routes were predetermined way points set into the onboard Inertial Navigation System. These waypoints were designed to keep the aircraft miles away from hostile USSR airspace. Litton Industries, a defense contractor, was the manufacturer of the avionics package. This route when flown properly would take the airliner very close to the USSR Kamchatka peninsula, but well outside USSR restricted airspace. However, do to pilot error, or a malfunctioning Inertial navigation system, the pilot drifted off the desired track and into soviet airspace. The soviets where engaged in super secret missle testing on the Kamchatka peninsula during the time of KAL-007's deviation along the rouge route. In addition, the US Airforce had a Boeing KC-135A near by monitoring the missle testing. The Russian high command launched Soviet fighter aircraft and shot KAL-007 out of the sky. All 269 souls were killed. No bodies were ever retrieved and only clothing was found and returned to the relatives. The flight manifest listed 26 crew members which is an extraordinary large number. Could this flight have been a spy mission using the passengers as cover without their knowledge? Certainly the presence of a US Air Force KC-135a reconisence aircraft near the Shoot down zone, and the appearent loss of any recorded radio telemetry data on the flight, leads creedence to the thought.

Many events would develope from his tradgic incidence. Before KAL-007 was shot down GPS was on the front burner to have civilian control over the system. However, after the incident President Reagan by way of the military industrial complex(U.S. Air Force) took full controll the United States GPS program implimenting a universal tracking program unparaleled in the history of mankind, which would later morp into space comand at the direction of former U.S. President Donald Trump. Then, Republican President Reagan falsley positioned himself as the liberator of Satelite global positioning systems when in fact Democrat U.S. President James Carter attempted to bring the system under civilian control in 1979. After the killing of 269 innocent people, funding for the program was unlimited, and modern day GPS was developed.

Congressmen Larry McDonald exercised control of not only the Ultra Conservative John Birch society but the private intelligence firm known as Western Goals. Western Goals was a response the the Church committee hearings and operation COINTELPRO. That is, government spying on political organizations was outlawed. Consequently, All government files from policing agencies were transferred to private intelligence firms. Hence, Western Goals was created. The founding members of Western Goals were Congressmen McDonald, Spy Master John Rees, and U.S. Army Major General John Kirk Singlaub. Major General John Kirk Singlaub was a loose cannon in his own right. Singlaub was a founding member of the CIA and OSS. Major General Singlaub was relieved of duty and forced to retire by U.S. President James Carter after he bashed the President on public television. Singlaub was a dinosaur who didn't understand in post-Veitnam America, WW2 was over. Congressmen McDonald's tradgic death paved the way for Army Major General Singlaub to continue the Western Goal franchise. After an act of Congress banned the President Reagan administration from aiding the Nicaraguan Contras Singlaub used Western Goals to raise money, under the table, for Marine Corp Colonel Oliver North's adventures.
